Why are men so hard to buy for? They seem to get more difficult as the years fly by. Take my Dad, you ask him for any ideas AND he lists off everything he doesn't want OR replies with 'nothing'. We then have his birthday to follow shortly after Christmas. Despite this I've managed to scramble up various gifts & stocking filler ideas for men in hope that they'll be of some help.

First up in my gift guide is this humongous John Rocha Parka, this is for my Dad. He's always moaning about being cold, he'll buy a new coat for it to not do the job. He's always out walking the dogs with me when he's not at work, so this will be perfect. The parka is actually filled with feathers, they even include a preview tag of the filling. If they made one in the women's range I'd be replacing my Topshop & Miss Selfridge parkas. The coat doesn't come cheap at £140, but it'll last forever. Other fashion picks have been shirts, ties and cosy jumpers & PJ's, everyone loves a little wardrobe refresh.

I don't have an awful lot of 'beauty' bits for the men I'm buying for, they aren't overly high maintenance. A classic buy of my Dad is Aramis. He's worn it forever and will never stray from it. I also recommend hitting Boots for the Library of Fragrance range for unique scents. Here I have a sample size of Thunderstorm* & yes it really does smell like the name. Label M kindly sent over their Male Grooming Kit*, three items come packaged inside a lovely wash bag. Dan's snapped this up, it's perfect for his constant work trips to London at the moment. Flint + Flint* are also a brand to look at if you know someone into their skincare. I was lucky enough to receive a bundle of products recently, they're honestly incredible & a brand that's overlooked right now. To go with your skincare, try out Washi face cloths, I was sent some a few years ago and don't use/buy anything else. OH and you may spot a little Lush in there, Bar Humbug makes a feature. My Grandad is always asking me about 'Gurt Lush'.

Late arrivals come from Pininfarina, a rather incredible Italian designer brand. Usually when I receive the odd male product my Dad is the first to oversee them, usually passing on the majority and Dan getting his mitts on them. However this time around he soon snatched up Segno, the new fragrance by Pininfarina. For him to love a fragrance as much as he loves this one is really saying something. He never sways from his signature scent but somehow Pininfarina have managed it. On a side note from myself and my Mum, we honestly think it smells incredible. It's definitely a scent to purchase him in the future.

Of course you have to have your novelty stocking fillers, I've picked out a Chili Chocolate Roulette. You can bet my name will be cursed on Christmas Day. I also spotted Chocolate Scrabble which seems to be selling out everywhere. Inside the box are 35-ish chocolates with letters printed on the wrappers & a chocolate trophy for the winner. Lindt & Green&Black are staples in our house with some American candy's thrown in. I spotted the Tetris Puzzle Cube also, along with a Tetris Mug which didn't arrive in time for the gift guide. The mug changes with heat. Dan's had a Pacman Mug before and it went down SO well. If you're wanting to create something sentimental I'd check out CHEERZ, I love my DIY Photo Book*. OR there's even glowing earphones* and a 'G-tag*- for those who lose their keys - it can even be put in your suitcase for those who travel. No more lost luggage?

I always pick out decorations to put on gifts, this year I've spotted the adorable tin Christmas Pudding from Sainsbury's and a Stocking Photo Frame - this is for my Grandad. I'll be putting a photo of my Grandma in their for him, she'll then be the angel on his tree. We can't forget the iPad Mini, Armani Watches AND Mad Men DVDs, PS4 Games and more. All items feature in my guide are linked below - including their prices. What will you be buying the men in your life this year? Lucy xx
